She was supposed to stay in the picture
Nipped Out makes wall art where the person in the picture has got out of it. A girl sits on the bottom of her frame with her legs dangling. Another hangs off the edge by her fingertips. One has drawn herself a rope and is halfway down the wall. Each piece is a graphite drawing in a black A4 frame, and a wooden figure, printed and laser-cut in our workshop in Lincolnshire, fixed to the frame so she really does stand out from the wall.
We started with a simple idea: the most interesting thing about a picture is its edge. Everything on this site is about that edge and the small person who keeps crossing it.
Made here
We are a small manufacturing team in Lincolnshire. We design, print, cut and pack everything ourselves, on FSC birch plywood, to order. Nothing is shipped in from elsewhere and nothing sits in a warehouse. That is why a piece takes 3 to 5 working days to leave us, and why no two are ever quite the same.
