Description
Nobody knows what is on the other end of the rope. She is not letting go until she finds out.
Heave is a graphite drawing of a girl leaning back with all her weight on a thick rope that runs straight out of her picture and over the edge of the frame. The rope is the only colour on the piece, a chalky marigold yellow. The picture is printed on textured cream paper in a solid black A4 box frame; the girl and her rope are one wooden piece, printed and laser-cut from 3 mm birch plywood in our Lincolnshire workshop, crossing the moulding so the rope really does leave the picture.
